Hello!

I am Amanda White, Sherry’s niece.

We’re raising funds for my aunt, Sherry Adair, who was recently diagnosed with stage 3 invasive esophageal adenocarcinoma. She began chemotherapy on March 20th and will continue treatment over the next eight weeks. If the tumors respond, doctors plan to remove them with surgery, followed by more chemo and recovery.

Sherry is raising her 9-year-old granddaughter, Rylea, whom she adopted in 2022 after caring for her since she was a toddler. Rylea is her whole world, and even while battling cancer, Sherry’s first concern is making sure Rylea is cared for and supported. As treatment progresses, she may need help with things like rides to and from school and maintaining a sense of normalcy for Rylea during such a difficult time.

On top of that, Sherry works full-time and cares for her elderly mother who went through radiation for lung cancer 6 months ago, and juggling everyone’s needs with little time for herself. Her adult children live out of state, and while our family is doing what we can, she’ll need more support—especially during treatment and recovery. We hope her daughter can come help, but the added costs of time away from work, travel, and caregiving will add up quickly.

Sherry is deeply uncomfortable asking for help, but we want to ease the pressure of day-to-day expenses so she can focus on healing. Every donation, no matter how small, can make a difference.
