Support Sherry's Dream Residency in France

I never thought I would be here, like the person who gets nominated for an Oscar and doesn’t prepare a speech because they never expect to win. That’s how it felt when I received my acceptance letter for the artist residency at Château d’Orquevaux in France. I truly did not expect to be chosen.

For years, I’ve poured myself into being a loyal wife and raising four children. They are my greatest gift and joy. I’ve given my heart to my family, putting my own dreams quietly on the back burner. Now that my children are grown, I’m finally stepping into something that feels both exhilarating and terrifying: saying yes to my writing in a way I never have before.

I'm so incredibly grateful for this opportunity. It provides me with a writers space, lodging in the château, and a creative community of artists from around the world. It is the space and time I’ve longed for to dive deeply into my work.

The residency has generously awarded me a partial grant, which reduces the cost, but I am still responsible for the remaining 3,250 euros (about $3,500) plus international flights, ground transportation, meals, and other basic needs while I’m there. Altogether, this comes to about $6,500.

Every dollar raised goes directly toward:

* Covering the residency fee balance

* Flights and travel to and from France

* Daily meals and groceries not included in the program

* Miscellaneous expenses (supplies, travel insurance, etc.)

This is me taking a leap into something that feels bigger than myself. It scares me, but in the best way, the way that reminds me I am still growing, still becoming, still allowed to dream.
