Dear Friends, Family, and Community,

This Go Fund Me account was created for Sherry Thurman-Thompson, a 40-year-old born and raised Stocktonian, mother, wife and educator. Sherry is the mother of Bradley (17) and Brielle (7), the wife of Brandon Thompson and has been an Educator in her community for over 16 years. She recently landed her “dream job,” working with students, teachers, and families as a Mental Health Specialist. Supporting and healing others is a personal and professional passion of Sherry's.

In early January, the family received the news that Sherry has Stage 3 Colorectal Cancer. Sherry’s faith remains strong, her spirits high and her mindset one of positivity and solution-based outcomes. Sherry’s greatest story is being a mother to her two children. Giving back to her community through education and volunteering has been a work of HEART. She remains a pillar of strength, a source of endless love, and a cherished friend to so many. Sherry is best known for her ability to smile through all of life’s circumstances. Sherry has always put her whole heart into supporting everyone around her and those in need.

Now, she needs our help. With her recent shift in employment and diagnosis, she does not qualify for disability through her employer and will experience a lapse in her insurance coverage. The path ahead involves several treatments: radiology, chemotherapy, surgeries, labs, doctor visits, and the inevitable responsibilities that come along with a cancer diagnosis. The funds raised will help her family move through her treatment plans without delays and reduce financial stress and demand. Living in California, a dual income is realistic to maintain finances and expenses, at the very least.
