3 years ago, my sister-in-law Sherri was diagnosed with liver cancer. She needed a liver transplant. She and my brother have been making multiple trips from their home in upstate NY to NYC for treatment, which has been a financial strain.

A month ago, Sherri received the call they had been waiting for. They had a liver for her! Since then, she has been recovering at home with the help of her husband Allen. He is currently her full-time caregiver, and the bills are piling up. They are both self-employed, and if they don't work, they don't get paid. They are now making weekly trips to NYC for check-ups and will have to continue to do so for the next few months.
