Hi. My name is Sherri Hanks I am a 56 year old woman who was recently diagnosed with ovarian cancer. It came to me as a shock if my life. I never thought I would ever have to deal with something so awful, scary. It's a life changing event, which if it was caught months ago I probably would have had a better chance of beating this . 5 mths ago I woke up with the most severe pain in my stomach ,pain that I never thought existed. Needless to say I was in and out of BSW for 4 mths with bowel obstructions that I had them every couple of days for 4 mths. BSW never told me why I was getting them or that I should get more tests done or get a full exam. The whole 4 mths I had abnormal blood results,97 tests that were all abnormal and no one at BSW told me about. So ,the day they found a large tumor on my left ovary is the last time I've been there. So now I'm 5 mths Into this cancer and my chances of survival aren't near as good as they would have been if I would have found out 5 mths ago. I'm on disability and I have no money for anything extra. My oncologist is an hour away and I really don't even have clothes to wear to Drs visits, for blood draws and chemotherapy. I also don't have any extra money for gas to get there all the time. I'm in need of clothing, gas money.
