Support Sherri Lynn Varilek's Battle with Cancer

Sherri Lynn Varilek, (AKA SherBear, Sherri Shot) She has fallen on hard times. Unfortunately. Hopefully most of you know, she now has breast cancer. She moved to NYC 20 years ago. She made a lot of friends here, & made a lot of people happy over the years. She did/does a thing

called a SherBear hug. Because she could see someone really needed love. She'd whisper in these lucky people's ears, positive, "you will be ok" things. And you could see the angst, or sadness get replaced, with relief. Or hope. Anyone lucky enough to have one of these hugs knows.

My girlfriend of 12 years Sherri, & the mother to our son is in a bad spot now. Terribly, and tragically, to many women unfortunately get dealt the hand of breast cancer.

We all know about what happens. What Will happen. She's on the most intense Chemo medicine available. Our son, is terrified of seeing his mom bald. Sherri's Dad died of cancer this year. She promised our son 6 months ago she wouldn't get cancer. Here our family is now.

Sherri has 1 friend in Nebraska that can help. Her sister is going to help, coming down from Illinois. Her mom can't really help, to much, she's to old to deal with our, powerful, son. He's a handful, if you know you know...

Wigs are expensive. Travel for her sister from Illinois to Nebraska is expensive. The kind of child care that she/we need is expensive. Things that she couldn't get on her own are expensive. Her only income is from me, child support. I can't give her the Bear support she needs. I only make so much... I feel so helpless. My best friend & my son are in dire straits.

Donate if you can. Please at least text, email, IG, FB, whatever & let her know that her family she made in NYC still loves her. All her friends are here.

Please share. I don't know everyone she knows. She's touched people that never came up in our relationship. I know I made 5k the goal, but that doesn't matter. Her knowing people care about her means the most.

I have not spoken to her about this. She would not like it.

Jeffery Emerson, Bebé Carl, & SherBear organized a relief effort for me, ( before gofundme), when my mom was dying from Alzheimers. To help cover costs of going to Utah 4 times in 3 months. I was pissed they asked. But I've never felt so loved in my life. Ever... I felt guilty, & stupid, but the eventual warmth I felt from so many people trying to ease my burden really soothed me. I eventually accepted. & embraced the love. A lot of ppl helped me who didn't know me. They knew Sherri. That was enough for them.
