Support Sherri and Laurie’s Kidney Transplant Costs

Sherri Gehringer needs a kidney and her college friend, Laurie Kraska, has a kidney to spare. They are a match and the transplant is tentatively scheduled for October 2024. This is amazing news!

Now they need your help. We’d like to raise funds to pay for hotel rooms for Sherri’s husband, Matt, and Laurie’s husband, Keith, during the transplant process. We’d like to be able to cover their gas and food expenses during this time. They could be staying in Danville for as few as 3 nights, but it could be many more. Both families will need to board their dogs.

We’d also like to raise funds for Sherri and Matt to go back and forth from Howard to Danville for approximately 25 follow-up appointments in the year after the transplant (and that’s with no complications). Follow-ups will continue even after the first year.

Laurie or Matt might need to exhaust their paid time off. Both families might want a special meal ordered in once in a while. And we’d also like to raise enough funds for costs that none of us can even anticipate.
