Support Sherri and Julian: A Journey of Love and Faith

Sherri and her sweet son, Julian, are a family I deeply admire and they could really use some help. Sherri is a single mother to Julian, a vibrant 6-year-old with special needs who requires round-the-clock care. Since October 2022, Sherri has been Julian’s full-time caregiver. Balancing a traditional 9-5 job while providing the necessary care for Julian became too overwhelming. In addition to being his caregiver, she also homeschools him full-time. Julian is non-verbal and has difficulty understanding most verbal communication, making it crucial for Sherri to provide a safe and nurturing home environment.

Julian has a rare genetic disorder called Coffin-Siris Syndrome, affecting fewer than 1,000 people in the U.S. This disorder is characterized by intellectual, developmental, and cognitive disabilities, and Julian has also been diagnosed with Autism. Despite his challenges, Julian continues to overcome many obstacles with immense strength and resilience. He requires extensive therapy four days a week and regular visits to various specialists for his complex care. In response to Julian’s needs, Sherri made the selfless decision to stop working and dedicate herself to his full-time care, which has significantly reduced her income.

In December 2023, after living with family proved unsustainable due to overcrowding and differences, Sherri found an apartment for herself and Julian. While she has received some assistance since the move, she still faces financial challenges. Sherri is an amazing mother, embracing her unexpected journey with gratitude and joy, providing a loving and safe home for Julian.

Sherri is also a woman of deep faith, walking through life with a strong foundation in God. Her unwavering belief in a miracle and her inspirational journey of faith and love drive her forward every day. Sherri was a semi-finalist in the "Super Mom" competition sponsored by the Children's Miracle Network, and her story deeply moved me.
