Hello friends! We are starting this fundraiser for our dear co-worker who has found himself in hardship because his young pup is not doing very well. Here is his story:
Sherman is almost two and a half years old. His first seizure was in July while we were hiding inside from the fireworks. He was only having one seizure a month since then that I knew of. I was monitoring his seizure activity and having some testing done that I could afford. Earlier this week, I had some blood work and an X-ray done to help rule out something fungal, and everything came back clear.
Just two days later, he had back-to-back seizures in about 15 minutes, and I rushed him to Salt Lake MedVet to get him seizure medication to help control them. Up until this point, I was hoping it was something environmental that I could control, but that's not the case.
The morning of the 8th, he suffered another seizure even while on his medication, and I rushed him back to Salt Lake MedVet to get him help. They kept watch on him for an hour or so and saw no change with him while administering a higher dose of the anti-seizure drug to help bring him back to normal. While being checked out, he suffered another seizure in the lobby, and they rushed him back to help him. They need to monitor him over the next 24 hours while they put him on another stronger medication to stop his seizures. Before being sent home, they let me know he responded well to fluids, and he was coherent but obviously very confused.
With the hospital stay and monitoring, it will be $2000-3000, and they want to do an MRI and spinal tap to rule out a brain tumor and meningitis, which they quoted another $5000 for.
Even if you can donate any amount possible to help his sweet pup have a fighting chance at getting diagnosed and helped, it means the world. Thank you so much for your love and donations. ♡
