Support Sheri Brown's fight with Stage IV Bladder Cancer
Donation protected
For 33 years, my sister Sheri Brown has devoted her life to caring for others as a Registered Nurse. She's been a source of physical and emotional support for countless patients and their families during their most challenging times. Now, Sheri needs our help.
In September 2023, Sheri was diagnosed with stage IV bladder cancer, which has spread to her lymph nodes and spine. The diagnosis was devastating, but Sheri has faced it with the same strength and resilience she's shown throughout her life. Despite having private insurance, Sheri has been overwhelmed by out-of-pocket medical expenses, paying thousands for each test and procedure. Her savings have been completely drained. Without the ability to work, her last paycheck was in October 2023, she now faces just over $30,000 in unpaid medical bills, with more costs on the horizon as she continues her fight.
To make matters even more challenging, shortly after Sheri's diagnosis, our mother suffered a stroke. Despite her own battle with cancer, Sheri has become our mom's primary caregiver. It's been an exhausting journey, both physically and mentally. I travel from Texas to Louisiana every month for an extended weekend to help, our oldest sister lives in Michigan and has made numerous trips to assist as well, and our brother, who also lives in Louisiana, helps out when he's able.
To bring in some income, Sheri began reselling items from abandoned storage lockers. But the physical demands, combined with the effects of chemotherapy, proved too much. She became ill twice from the heat and has had to reconsider. We are trying to raise $50,000 to help Sheri cover her current and future medical expenses. Sheri has spent her entire career caring for others, and now she needs our help. Sheri is a proud and strong woman, always the first to lend a hand but never one to ask for help herself. She's always said, "Be tough like Sheri Brown!" But right now, even the toughest among us needs support.
If you can donate, no matter the amount, it would mean the world to Sheri and our family. Every bit helps and provides some relief during this incredibly difficult time. If you aren't able to donate, we understand and would ask that you forward this to someone you know that may know Sheri. We also ask for your prayers, positive thoughts, and good vibes for both Sheri and our mom as they fight their battles.
Thank you for your support.
