Hi, my name is Shenice, and I’m reaching out to share the devastating impact Hurricane Melissa has had on my home. This Hurricane has devastated many communities across the western and southwestern areas of Jamaica. It has displaced thousands of families, leaving them without shelter, food, or clean water.
The hurricane’s path destroyed my area of Slipe in St. Elizabeth, just minutes’ drive from the famous Holland Bamboo and Black River. My family is amongst those affected — their homes were severely damaged, like many others in the area. They are desperately searching for basic necessities and a safe place to lay their heads. Any amount you can give will go directly toward helping them and others in their community get back on their feet after this disaster.
Your kindness means more than words. If you’d like to donate goods, please reach out to me directly.
Thank you for helping my family and many others rebuild what was torn down.
In true Jamaican fashion as our proverbs say “Every mickle mek ah muckle”.
