Support Sheng and Sean's Family Home Recovery From Fire
Donation protected
My name is Bao and I am one of Sheng and Sean’s children. On May 12th, our family’s home caught on fire in a freak accident while they and my three younger siblings were inside the home. Thankfully, they were able to evacuate swiftly and safely, but the winds carried the fire directly through the heart of our childhood home within 15 minutes.
To know my parents is to love them, as they are always ready and willing to give a helping hand in their communities and we are in a moment in which they need one. This tragedy has left our family without a livable home for an undetermined amount of time.
We are asking, humbly and with a heavy heart, for community support by way of donations as we begin to rebuild and put back together the pieces that were lost.
To be frank, my parents were hesitant with the idea of asking for help because they don’t want to be a burden on others. They are no strangers to having to start over, but never thought they’d have to do so again. To have fled persecution, moved to another country, learn a new language, and through hard work and grit, become citizens of the United States and reach for the American dream- just to watch it all burn in front of them was devastating. They started their life together with this home, have housed others in need with this home, raised their children and hosted their weddings in this home.
Every single dollar will go directly towards helping our family obtain everyday necessities and start to recover from this heartbreaking loss. Thank you and we will continue to post updates as we navigate these turbulent times.
