Support Shelly's Journey to Recovery

I am a good friend of Shelly Rasmussen. We first met in college as Recreational Management majors. We had a lot of adventures exploring the outdoors, camping, hiking, biking, rock climbing etc. Shelly was the life of the party, always quick with jokes and laughs. Her positivity and zest for life was contagious! After we both had the opportunity to serve 18 month missions for our church in Europe, we had the chance to start a business from the ground up together. Her ability to organize, innovate, create, and energy was unmatched! She had a very successful career creating content for University of Phoenix for many years.

Unfortunately, in the past year, Shelly has experienced severe symptoms that have left her disabled, homebound, and mostly bedridden. She has been working tirelessly with medical professionals in various fields where they have discovered multiple complex, chronic issues that require treatments and services often not covered by insurance. Shelly has been unable work. Her parents and brother moved across the country to be with her and Nick, as she is unable to care for herself. She has been fiercely independent, so to have to rely on so many has been a huge change. Can you imagine life passing you by as you have zero energy or ability to participate? That has been especially gut wrenching for Shelly. In addition to this immense hardship, her husband Nick, has had health issues that have hindered his ability to progress in his career. The medical bills are piling up and the financial burden is overwhelming. Nick and Shelly have been so generous with others and now they need our help! I am asking for support in helping relieve some of this immense burden. All funds will go to medical support for Shelly as she tries to piece life back together. Hopefully in somewhat of a future that resembles what she was once able to do.
