Support Shelly's Fight Against Brain Cancer

Dear friends, family, and beloved community,
With heavy but hopeful hearts, we invite you to join us in surrounding our dear friend Shelly with love, prayer, and tangible support in this unimaginable season.
Shelly is a devoted wife to Josh and a joyful, nurturing mother to two precious little ones—3-year-old Kezurai and newborn baby Xiava. Just as their family was adjusting to the sweet chaos of life with a new baby, Shelly received a heartbreaking diagnosis: WHO Grade brain stem cancer, with a prognosis that offers little hope from a medical standpoint.
Before her diagnosis, Shelly served faithfully as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), caring for others with compassion and excellence in the medical field. She was diligently working toward becoming a Registered Nurse (RN), following a clear calling to serve and heal. That dream is now on hold. Due to her illness, she is no longer able to work—and heartbreakingly, her job is not offering any financial coverage or support during this time.
And yet—we do not grieve as those without hope.
Shelly’s life and testimony are rooted in her unwavering faith in Jesus Christ. She knows that her times are in His hands (Psalm 31:15), and that not one moment of her suffering is wasted in the sovereign economy of God. In the mystery of His providence, our Lord permits trials that shake us—but never to destroy us. As the Heidelberg Catechism reminds us, “not a hair can fall from our head without the will of our Father in heaven.”
Even now, Shelly holds fast to the truth that our God is good in all He ordains. We trust not in outcomes, but in the character of the One who holds all things together. And we believe that even in this, God is working a weight of glory that far outweighs the pain (2 Corinthians 4:17).
This fundraiser is a humble effort to lighten the heavy burdens of Shelly’s medical care, household needs, and ongoing support for Josh, Kezurai, and Xiava as they walk this road together. Any gift, no matter the size, is a tangible reminder that they are not alone—and that the body of Christ suffers and rejoices together.
Please consider donating, sharing, and above all, praying fervently for Shelly’s peace, strength, and healing. May her life continue to be a radiant testimony to the grace of God, even in the valley.
To God be the glory—now and forever.
With hope in Christ,
Team Shelly
