Support Shelly's Battle Against Stage 4 Cancer

In early August we found out our mom, Shelly, was going to have to have surgery to remove a tumor found in her intestines. She had been in so much pain. In and out of the emergency room. It was good to finally have an answer. She went in to have the mass removed but nothing could have prepared us for what the doctor found. Our mom has stage 4 colon cancer wich had spread her liver to her ovary on her right side. We were floored. When she woke up we couldn't keep the pain out of our faces and told her that the doctor would could not remove the mass. She had an 8 inch cut vertically on her tummy and woke up needing an ostomy bag to try and help with the pain from stool moving past this mass. I watched as the information sunk in and she started to cry. Then we were all crying. As always though my mother is tough and she said she would make it through this. My sister Lacy helped my mom heal from surgery and change her ostomy bags because it made me queasy. Many trips out to the farm and into the doctor for us both. Chemo was the next step but her pain was always high. On September 23 Lacy took my mom back to the emergency room. She had a massive lump near her scar line that was angry and red! No doctor looked at it. They pumped her full of antibiotics and she took her home. The next day the doctors decided not to do chemo and gave her antibiotics and finally someone looked at the swelled angry spot. Only they didn't actually look. They marked the edge of of the infection and sent her home. My sister met mom at her home to change her ostomy bag and she could see pus leaking already when she started to peel the base. Nothing could have prepared her for the amount of fluid or the smell. The scar line had ruptured! Lacy called the ambulance and we were back in the emergency room. The doctor said it was good it ruptured and that was about it. Now we have to clean it twice a day. More trips to the farm and time missed from work, lots of trips for mom to the doctor , and lots of food deliveries to the farm to. We will do what we have to , to keep taking care of her. We are reaching out to the community, family and friends to help with all the extra expenses. Anything helps and we all will appreciate the extra help . Thank you! We are asking for all the prayers ❤️ in this healing process and all the stress this has caused her and our family. Please pray for Mom.
