Update 2/13

My sweet mama passed away after her courageous fight with cancer on January 27th. She fought so hard and we will cherish every moment we got with her. We will be holding a celebration of life and I will update when we have more information to give. Thank you all for the continued love and support. Update 1/25

This morning we had to call an ambulance and my mom is currently in the ICU. We aren’t sure what the future holds but we know for sure my mom’s fighting with all her strength. Prayers, love, and positive thoughts toward my mom are needed.

Update 1/21

The past two months have been incredibly hard. Shelly has been unable to work due to ongoing, severe pain, and at this point, she cannot return to work until her doctors can identify a new and effective treatment.

Each day is a challenge, and the uncertainty makes everything harder. While she continues to fight and show strength, the financial strain is very real.

We are so grateful for every donation, message, and share. Your kindness reminds her that she’s not facing this alone. Thank you for helping her focus on healing while navigating this painful chapter.

Update 11/22

This week we got the brain MRI back that concluded my mom has new lesions in her brain. She will be undergoing a radiation treatment that has a successful rate of killing off the DNA that is involved in those lesions. My mom will be taking time off work until further notice. Many people have asked for ways they can help and at this point we are accepting well wishes, positive thoughts, prayers, and any donations to help with the burden of my mom officially taking the much needed time off she needs to heal. Our beautiful sister, mom, daughter and friend Shelly has been courageously battling melanoma for the past six years. In that time, she’s undergone five surgeries, countless appointments, and endless challenges — yet she continues to face it all with incredible strength, grace, and a smile.

Shelly is a self-employed hairdresser who loves her clients and her craft, but her treatments have forced her to take significant time off work. She never complains, even when things get hard. She just keeps going with quiet determination and faith.

This week, Shelly begins a new infusion treatment, and we’re hopeful it will bring her the healing she deserves. We’re starting this GoFundMe to help ease the financial stress of medical bills and to give her peace of mind while she focuses on her health and recovery.

Shelly is inspired every day by her two amazing kids — her son, who’s in a pilot program, and her daughter, who’s finishing school to become an ultrasound technologist. They are her heart and her motivation to keep fighting.

Anyone who knows Shelly knows her kindness, her gentle soul, and her love for Disney — her happy place. Our hope is that she continues to find joy and still gets to make those magical memories she loves so much.
