Shelli is a single mother who has overcome tremendous adversity throughout her life. She has faced challenges with polysubstance use, incarceration, and most recently, a devastating fire that destroyed her childhood home and claimed the lives of her mother and beloved dog. Despite these hardships, Shelli has shown remarkable resilience and strength, always striving to provide a better life for her 11-year-old twins.

In June 2024, Shelli received the heartbreaking diagnosis of acute myeloid leukemia (AML), just after losing everything in the fire. She fought bravely and was in remission for about a year, but her AML has sadly relapsed. Now, with only 2-3 months left to live, Shelli's greatest concern is for the future of her children. She wishes to ensure that her twins are cared for by their grandfather and do not end up in foster care.
