My mom, Shellie, is continuing to face one of the toughest battles of her life, stage 4 inflammatory breast cancer. After undergoing surgery, we learned from her pathology report that there was still cancer remaining in her breast and lymph node. Because of this, she now needs to travel again to MD Anderson in Texas for six weeks, for 44 rounds of intensive radiation treatment. With 5 months of harsh chemotherapy after. The doctors at MD Anderson are hopeful that these treatments will prevent her cancer from reoccurring. This has been an incredibly difficult time for our family, both emotionally and financially, as we try to support her through every step of this journey.

The costs are adding up quickly. While my mom is focused on her health and recovery, she also has to worry about paying for hotel stays, travel expenses, and medical bills that continue to add up. These are necessary for her to receive the best possible care, but they are a heavy burden for us to carry alone. We want her to be able to focus on healing, not on how we’ll manage these expenses.
