Shellie and I have been friends since we were teenagers. I’ll never forget the day we met—she bounced back to the industrial sink where I was a new employee washing dishes at Peter Piper Pizza and offered to get me a Coke. That small act of kindness was just the beginning. Over the years, Shellie has proven to be one of the most charitable and giving people I know, always putting others before herself.
This weekend, Shellie and Mike were in St. George with friends, enjoying some time together in their side-by-side. In a heartbreaking turn of events, they were involved in a terrible rollover accident. Both were life-flighted to the local hospital—Shellie with a broken neck and Mike with a broken back. The shock and fear of that morning are still fresh, and the road ahead for their recovery is long and uncertain.
The funds raised here will go directly toward their mounting medical bills, insurance deductibles, and any expenses needed to get them safely back home from St. George. Shellie is the first to offer help to those around her. She’s currently working on Christmas gifts for her special needs students who ride with her on their bus, even as she faces her own challenges. After a year marked by the loss of her dear brother and uncle, Shellie and Mike need our support more than ever. Please consider helping this amazing couple as they begin the difficult journey to healing and recovery.
