Our beloved Shelley has been officially diagnosed with stage 4 non-small cell lung cancer. Shelley is currently undergoing emergency care at Upstate Hospital in Syracuse after being admitted due to complications of this extremely serious and aggressive form disease. As she bravely prepares to get strong enough to undergo immunotherapy and chemotherapy treatments, she is faced with mounting medical expenses, travel costs, and household bills. Shelley, a proud member of our community and the Buffalo Bills family, is asking for your help during this challenging time.

Shelley Fontana Parmer isn’t just a fighter—she’s a force of love. A mother, grandmother, great-grandmother-to-be, sister, wife, aunt, and beloved friend, Shelley has spent her life lifting others up. From cheering on her granddaughter Honesty at every musical and football game, to dressing as Mrs. Claus each holiday to read ’Twas the Night Before Christmas to smiling children at the American Legion, Shelley’s kindness has lit up countless lives. A proud Oswego native now living in Waterloo, she’s worked hard her whole life—first with SUNY Oswego’s auxiliary services, now as a team leader at Crosby’s, and is an active member of the American Legion. In June 2025, she married the love of her life, Sgt. William Parmer, a U.S. Army veteran who she has proudly shared 18 devoted years with.

But just as they began their new chapter, Shelley received devastating news: a diagnosis of stage 4 cancer. Though the exact type is still being determined, doctors have found two spots affecting her lungs. She’s already struggling to afford critical needs—a single breathing medication costs hundreds of dollars—and with William’s VA benefits not yet active for Shelley and no health insurance, the financial weight is overwhelming. Medical bills, prescriptions, and travel for treatment are piling up.

Shelley has always been the one we turn to—the giver, the strong one. But now, she needs us. This fundraiser will help cover her medical expenses, ensure she gets the care she deserves, and let her focus on what matters most: healing, being with family, and watching her granddaughter shine.
