Shelley Faulknor of Fouke, AR is a 46 year old wife, mom, daughter, sister, & friend, fighting for her life. She has been married to her high school sweetheart, Wesley Faulknor, for 20 years. They have two daughters. Their older daughter, Searcy, and her husband are expecting their first child in December, giving them their first grandchild. Their younger daughter, Izzy, is beginning her senior year of high school. Lots of exciting moments they are looking forward to!
One day Shelley was fine, living life, and enjoying ordinary days. She was working for the Salvation Army, and was an active member of her church, River of Life. On May 14, 2025, their world was turned upside down. She was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer. Her doctor immediately sent her to Baylor Hospital's ER in Dallas, Tx, where she was admitted. She soon found herself in a very invasive surgery to save her life. A projected 5-hour surgery turned into over a 9-hour surgery. It was a miracle in itself that she made it through surgery, because the doctors were not sure that she would. She has to travel to Baylor every two weeks for chemotherapy. On July 30, she underwent her second surgery to remove a tumor from her liver. Amazingly her blood markers have decreased from 10 to below 1!
But their money is running out quickly. The doctors and surgery centers require money up front, and it is adding up fast. As you can imagine, gas, food, lodging, co-pays and more, on top of Wesley having to be off work often, can be a lot financially! Her short-term disability is ending, and her health insurance will also be changing due to her not being able to work. She will be able to get insured through her husband's job, although it will be much more expensive. But they cannot go forward without it. Noone is ever prepared for a cancer diagnosis and all the life changes and challenges that come with it.
Shelley's faith in God is strong, and she knows He is in control. She is thankful for all of the love, prayers, and support she has received. If you feel led to donate, any amount will help, and we thank you! If you can't donate at this time, we covet your prayers for her healing, and for her and her family. Thank you!
