As most of you are aware, Sheldon was in a motorcycle accident on March 25, 2026. This accident left him with a broken leg and a dislocated elbow, both of which tore through his skin. 25% of his upper arm was through the skin. He had to have full reconstructive surgery on the elbow because all that was holding it together was some skin and blood vessels. He broke a rib and punctured his lung. He tore all the ligaments around his ribs, and he also destroyed the left shoulder that was previously fixed in a surgery a few years back, leaving his collarbone separated from his shoulder. He has been through 4 surgeries and will definitely have one more surgery to remove the temporary hinge located in the elbow in 3 to 6 months, depending on his healing. We cant even begin yo think what all the hospital bills will be.
After speaking to Sheldon's employer and Union, it was determined he has no short-term disability through his job because it is not offered. He does have long-term, but will have to go 3 months before receiving that, and it will be 60% of his pay. Needless to say, this is financially devastating to us. The Union Rep advised me to put a GoFundMe together and they would share it in hopes we could find enough support to manage through this situation.
If you are able and are willing to donate, our family would greatly appreciate it. But most of all, please keep Sheldon and our family in your prayers. This is hard in more ways than financial. The emotional and physical drain impacts us all deeply. Thank you all in advance for your love, prayers, and friendship.
Unfortunately they wont allow me to share the other photos due to them being so graphic.
