The home Sheldon built was completely wiped out—along with the schools, churches, and every neighbor’s house around them. Just two weeks before the storm, he had returned home from the U.S. when his work contract just ended, making it back just in time to save his children and himself.

The blessing is that they are safe—and Sheldon still has his land to rebuild on. But for now, his children are sleeping on boards. A family friend is sending a barrel filled with clothes, and essentials like batteries.

When the storm hit, Sheldon had to flee with only the clothes on his back. He didn’t even have time to grab his wallet or a single piece of paper. Everything he owned—every document, every possession—was lost in an instant.

I’m trying to raise funds so Sheldon can stock up on non-perishable food, blankets, and pillows—and, most importantly, so each of his children can have a small comfort, like a toy or stuffed animal to hold at night.

To make matters worse, humanitarian funds and donations have not yet reached Negril. No relief has arrived, and no help is in sight. Sheldon shared that they may not have electricity for a year or more.

Any contribution, no matter the size, will go directly toward helping this incredible family survive, rebuild, and restore a sense of hope and normalcy.
