Shelby is a devoted friend and the heart behind the Mommy and me ministry at our parish, where she has touched the lives of so many families with her kindness and support. Recently, Shelby suffered a serious back injury—a disc extrusion at L5-S1—that has left her unable to work. This week, she is facing back surgery, a daunting step that comes with both physical and financial challenges.
Shelby and her husband Aaron run their own business and have high deductible health insurance, which means they are anticipating significant out-of-pocket costs for the surgery (over $6,000). With Shelby unable to do her normal work as a massage therapist and expecting to have restrictions for at least six weeks after her operation, their family is facing a difficult time both emotionally and financially. The funds raised will help cover the cost of Shelby’s surgery and provide some relief for living expenses while she recovers, allowing her to focus on healing without the added stress of mounting bills.
Shelby has always believed in the power of prayer and community. She asks for your continued prayers for healing and grace, especially through the intercession of St. Gemma and blessed Rhoda Wise. If you have any prayer requests, please send them our way so we can lift you up as well. Your support—whether through a donation or a prayer—means the world to Shelby and her family as they navigate this challenging journey together.
