Hi, my name is Shelby, and I’m fundraising to help cover medical debt and the cost of ongoing care for multiple chronic and complex health conditions.

I’ve always tried to push through quietly, doing everything I can to manage on my own — but over the past couple of years, my health has taken a sharp turn. Between emergency care, life-saving medications, essential procedures, and specialist appointments, the costs have added up faster than I can keep up.

I started a GoFundMe earlier this year to help with medical expenses, and now I’m reaching out again because my needs have grown, and I truly need your support.

My health began declining rapidly after I experienced my first TIA (mini-stroke) in 2022 — a terrifying moment that marked the start of a long and difficult journey. Since then, I’ve been living with chronic migraines, nerve pain, cerebral edema (brain swelling), asthma, and more. These conditions make daily life unpredictable and exhausting, and getting answers and proper care has become a full-time effort.

Every dollar goes toward the care that keeps me going:

• Past due medical bills

• Emergency care when things spiral

• Ongoing treatments like Botox injections for migraines

• Specialist visits — including an upcoming sleep study and EEG

• Medications like Ubrelvy, Emgality, Levetiracetam (for seizures), and Budesonide (for asthma)

Some of these upcoming appointments — like the EEG and sleep study — are critical steps in understanding what’s happening inside my body and building a care plan that helps me move forward. I’m doing everything I can to feel better and find stability again.

This kind of support helps me access the care I need just to function — to manage pain, stay safe, and have the chance to live a fuller life without constantly worrying about what crisis is around the corner.

I hate asking for help — I really do. But a friend reminded me recently that there’s no shame in needing support. I’ve done everything I can on my own, and now I’m opening up to ask for a little help in getting through the tough parts.
