Our family is asking for support for my sister, Shelby, as she begins her recovery after receiving a life-saving liver transplant on 4/21/26.

My sister has been living with both Crohn’s Disease and a rare autoimmune liver disorder called PSC (Primary Sclerosing Cholangitis), which caused severe damage to her liver, leading to cirrhosis and liver failure. The only treatment for PSC is a liver transplant. She received the call on 4/20/26 that a donor liver was available and underwent transplant surgery on 4/21/26. While we are incredibly grateful, her recovery will be long and challenging.

Because we live greater than an hour away from the Atlanta hospital where she had her surgery, she will need to stay in Atlanta for approximately one month for frequent post-transplant appointments. During this time, her doctors will closely monitor her condition and adjust her anti-rejection medications to ensure her new liver is healing properly.

She will also be unable to drive herself, which means family members and friends will be rotating time staying with her in an Airbnb in Atlanta to help with everyday tasks, transportation to appointments, and providing the care and support she needs during this critical recovery period.

We are raising funds to help cover temporary housing, travel expenses, meals, and lost income while we focus on helping her heal.
