My sister Shelby Fink is a loving, free spirited, and caring woman who would help anyone in anyway she can. Unfortunately, she has had a challenging last couple of months and has now received the formal diagnosis no one ever wants to have for the second time in her life. As some of you may know, Shelby has already survived childhood Hodgkins lymphoma at the age of 7. Shelby had been having health issues and was trying to treat them at home. She recently went to the doctor as the problems were persisting and the doctor found a tumor in her colon. Shelby is currently in the hospital as she had to go to the ER as her ability to intake nutrition had decreased and she was not able to make it to her follow up appointment on November 21st. A formal diagnosis has been given of Stage 4 Colorectoral cancer that has metastasized to her lungs and hip. She will be starting chemotherapy tomorrow, 11/13/2025. Shelby will have expenses of co-pay, missed work and regular life expenses while fighting this battle. We are asking for donations to assist with the cost. If you are unable to donate; prayers, well-wishes, and good vibes are appreciated.
Thank you to everyone for your support. The response to this news and request for donations has been beyond amazing. Now that chemo is officially started and we have more information I will try to update this daily so everyone can stay up to date with the battle Shelby is fighting.
UPDATE:Shelby had her first chemo last night around 6:30 pm. She was able to take 3/4 of the treatment. This medicine is an irritant and they chose to stop as it was irritating her arm. She also had a full body MRI today and hopefully we will have results on 11/14/25.
Update: Shelby got to come home Saturday 11/15/2025. She is taking daily oral chemo treatment. The side effects are rough on her. She is a trooper and staying positive in this fight.
Update 12/9/2025: I apologize for not sending an update earlier. Shelby had her port placed last week in an outpatient procedure. She will be seeing the doctor tomorrow 12/10/2025 for the first office visit with the oncologist where we will finally get the results from the testing while she was in the hospital. She will have her first outpatient chemo treatment on Thursday 12/11/2025. Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers and send all the good vibes. Thank you for your support.
