Support Shelby and Chris After Tragic Loss

My name is Tiffany, and I am a close friend of Shelby, Chris, and Shelby's family.

Shelby and Chris Ornelas are a young couple who recently experienced unimaginable loss and hardship. After marrying in August 2023, they excitedly learned they were expecting their first child. Sadly, at just 20 weeks into the pregnancy, they found out their baby had a rare form of hydrocephalus called aqueductal stenosis. Tragically, three weeks later, Shelby delivered sweet baby Aiyla Belle stillborn.

Following this devastating loss, Shelby developed a severe infection and was rushed to the operating room, where she experienced even further complications that caused damage to her cervix, resulting in a third surgery.

The emotional and financial strain on the couple has been immense, with medical bills exceeding $8,000 and still growing. Our goal is to raise $10,000 with the help of a fundraiser to help alleviate some of their financial burden.

Any additional funds will be donated to the Mott Giving Team within the Michigan Medicine of Development, where they’ll be able to support a local family with a child living with hydrocephalus.
