This is a fundraiser to help Shelbie with expenses so that she can be there for her newborn! Sweet Dakota Grace was born on March 17th and has been in the hospital ever since. She was born with a congenital heart defect called VSD as well as hypothyroidism. She spent 2 weeks in the NICU in Longview and today she was flown to Fort Worth to Cook's Children's hospital. She is experiencing respiratory distress as a complication of her conditions and will be facing heart surgery within the next few weeks. As you can imagine this has been extremely stressful for Shelbie and the entire family. She's been having to split her time between Dakota and Averie and now she will need a place to stay while in Fort Worth, likely for several weeks. Also, this entire time she has been having to board her dog because she has been staying at her mom's house in Longview so that she's closer to the hospital to go do feedings every 3 hours and now she's even further away. Neither Shelbie or her mom have been able to work during this time and the expenses just keep piling on... Boarding for dog, extended hotel stay, reoccurring bills back home, food and travel expenses etc. My hope is that this GoFundMe can provide a little relief for them and a way for the people that would like to help, to be able to do just that in the way the family needs it most!!
