Donation protected
This is for my sister Sheila Scoggin. This is her story..
Some of you know and others may not be aware. As a teen I was diagnosed with a kidney disease called Glomerulonephritis - IGA neuropathy.
As the years have progressed my kidney function has decreased and I am now in need of a kidney transplant. My sister Liz Rhynes Cowen didn’t hesitate to say pick me
After a couple months of tests we discovered she is my PERFECT MATCH! On October 24th, at Barnes Jewish Hospital in St. Louis we will both undergo surgery and she will donate to me a healthy kidney. It will be a major surgery for me and will take a few months to recover and a lifetime of anti-rejection drugs. There will be expenses related to the surgery/recovery not covered by insurance so if you would like to assist at all I would be extremely greatful.
