My name is Steve Duncan and I'm the brother of Sheila Duncan Davis. Sheila is my baby sister by four years and was diagnosed with Stage 2 Triple Negative Breast Cancer late in the year of 2024.
At that time our whole family's world changed as every fear and concern came to light all in that one doctor visit for my baby sister when we were told she had cancer.
In late 2024/early 2025 treatment with medications, chemotherapy & surgery procedures started and it was very rough on her and our family.
Sheila spent most of the past year and a half in the hospital or doctor appointments that all took place a long distance from her home in Emory, Texas.
Twice in 2025 we came with-in a few seconds of losing her to the cancer and the side effects of the chemotherapy drugs she was having to endure. Her body could not tolerate those types of medications. But glory be to God he spared her life and treatment continued.
In late 2025 surgery was performed and all cancer tissue was removed, and glory be to God she was deemed cancer free.
Late in 2025 the healing process started and we knew going in, the healing was a long process. She was having to regain her strength, having to be able to walk short distances, having her hair grow back and all the while dealing with the pain from the surgeries and the chemo treatments.
As of today, she is cancer free and attempting to recover but that process has been slowed as of late due to stress, worry and concern over all the hospital, doctor, specialist bills that are arriving almost daily that she is responsible for that the insurance did not cover.
Needless to say, it is very hard to recover when all you can do is worry about how to pay all the hospital and doctor bills that just keep coming. The worry and concern over how to pay all these bills is really affecting her recovery and it has been difficult for her to recover.
For those of you that know Sheila, know she lives a very frugal lifestyle. Her only income is her Social Security check, and it barely covers her monthly bills with a little left over for gas and food.
Any doctor, hospital or medical bills that she gets puts a huge burden on her and is affecting her recovery.
At this time, she has hospital, doctor and specialist bills that as of today are around $2500.00 and we know that more bills are coming as per the text messages she has recently gotten from the hospitals.
When Sheila got sick with the type of cancer she had we asked you all to keep her in your prayers and you did. Because of those prayers God blessed her with healing and to be cancer free.
Now we are asking for prayers again in helping her pay the bills she is receiving due to her surgeries, treatments, medications and everything medically related to that cost.
Please if you feel lead or are willing to help her cover the cost of all these bills we would very much be thankful and appreciative for your help at this time.
May God continue to bless Sheila in her recovery, with help to pay these unforeseen medical bills and may God bless each and every one of you for your generosity and help.
May God bless you all. Thank you.
The family of Sheila Duncan Davis
