Hello everyone,
I'm reaching out to you with a heavy heart to share the story of my beloved mom, Sheila. She's been a pillar of strength and love in our family, but recently, our world has been turned upside down with the devastating news of her diagnosis: Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML).
For those who may not be familiar, AML is an aggressive form of blood cancer that requires immediate and intensive treatment. Her cancer treatment plan will entail at least a few chemotherapy sessions, while awaiting a donor for a bone marrow transplant. This journey will be long and difficult. As you can imagine, this news has left us all reeling, but amidst the fear and uncertainty, one thing remains constant: our unwavering determination to fight alongside her every step of the way.
However, the journey ahead is daunting, both emotionally and financially. My stepdad has been on medical leave himself from his shoulder surgery since November 2023 and now has to take unpaid time off of work to care for my mom. This means their household income has been drastically reduced since they are relying solely on their savings. On top of that, the mounting medical premiums, mortgage payments, and the necessity of being a caregiver has created an overwhelming financial burden for our family.
That's why I'm turning to you, our friends, family, and compassionate strangers alike, to ask for your support during this difficult time. Every donation, no matter the size, will make a difference in helping us alleviate the financial strain so that my mom can focus solely on her treatment and recovery.
Your generosity will directly contribute to:
Medical Expenses: Covering the costs of chemotherapy, medications, hospital stays, deductibles and premiums, and other necessary treatments.
Mortgage Payments: Ensuring that our family home remains a source of comfort and stability during this challenging period.
Our family is eternally grateful for any assistance you can provide, whether it's through a donation, sharing our story, or offering words of encouragement. Together, we can help my mom beat this and show her the immense love and support that surrounds her.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your kindness and generosity.
With love and hope,
The Baumgardner/Nelson Family
