This is being written on behalf of Sheena Perry. She never imagined having to share a story like this, but life changed quickly.

Sheena has cancer. She has been diagnosed with low grade serous carcinoma, stage 3b, which is a rare and aggressive type of ovarian cancer. Hearing those words was shocking and unreal. Some days she cries, some days she gets angry, and other days she just breathes and keeps moving forward.

Sheena recently had a major surgery where doctors removed her uterus, ovaries, over eleven fibroids, and a tumor. Healing from that has been a journey on its own. She has now started chemotherapy, going every three weeks for six rounds of treatment, each session lasting several hours. Through it all, she is trying to stay positive, find moments to laugh, and give herself grace. Something neither of us expected was how expensive this process would be. Even with insurance, there are so many things that are not covered. Hospital bills, medications, lab work, genetics testing, recovery supplies, and transportation to appointments all add up fast. It becomes overwhelming on top of everything else she is facing.
