Support Sheena Douglass in her convalescence

I’ve had the privilege of knowing Sheena Douglass for many years. Like so many of you, I first followed her as an admirer of her incredible craft designs and unique art style. Later, I had the honour of joining her Design Team, and now I’m proud to call her a good friend.
To thousands across the UK, Europe, the US, and beyond, Sheena is more than just a name. She’s a creative force. A much-loved designer, artist, tutor, and TV demonstrator, Sheena has inspired and educated the crafting community for almost two decades. Whether it’s through her beautiful stamps, intricate dies, or her joyful, down-to-earth teaching style, Sheena has helped make art feel achievable – even magical – for so many.
Her passion has always been clear: to bridge the gap between craft and art, and to make it accessible, fun, and good for the soul. Sheena has long championed the benefits of creativity on mental health, generously giving her time and heart to help others find peace and purpose through craft.
In 2025, Sheena faced a series of incredibly tough challenges and even though she was financially vulnerable, Sheena did what she does best. She rolled up her sleeves, trusted her talent, and forged a new path. She launched ‘Sheena’s Craft Academy’ under her own name – finally building her brand from scratch. With sheer determination, she began designing, teaching, packaging, even stitching and waxing her own handmade watercolour books – virtually single-handedly.
Despite limited resources, she launched her stunning Miniature Masterpiece Box Sets and Blueprint Designs and continued teaching through live demonstrations – all with the same enthusiasm and generosity we’ve come to love.
Then, in June, another blow. Sheena suffered a serious fall at home, resulting in a broken hip. What should have been a straightforward surgery unfortunately failed, and a second, far more invasive operation was required. Whilst in Hospital, Sheena’s also been diagnosed with a hairline fracture in her knee, making recovery incredibly painful and complicated.
Now facing a long road to healing, Sheena has been left unable to work – and therefore without any source of income for the foreseeable future.
It’s only with her reluctant blessing, and following encouragement from members of this wonderful crafting community, that I’ve created this GoFundMe page.
This is simply a way for us – her followers, her friends, her fellow crafters – to offer a little help during a time when she can’t power through it all alone. If you’ve ever been encouraged by Sheena, learned from her, laughed with her, or found joy in something she created, please consider making a small donation.
The hope is to ease some of the pressure on Sheena, allowing her to focus fully on healing, resting, and – when the time is right – returning to art, teaching, and the crafting community that she loves so dearly.
Thank you for reading, for caring, and for standing with Sheena through this difficult chapter. Every kind word and gesture means more than you’ll ever know. ❤️
