Support Sheba's Journey to a New Life
Donation protected
Sheba (named by her rescuer) was found abandoned on May 26, 2024 in Linden, California, in an area extremely popular for dumping unwanted animals. She sought help for herself at a couple local homes until one home finally took her in. Sadly, she had no collar or microchip, and no one has stepped forward so far to claim her. She is now in my (Melissa's) care for fostering and for finding her a rescue or a permanent home.
Sheba is a middle-aged female German Shepherd. She is very underweight and her teeth are worn down, likely from chewing on cage bars. Despite her obvious neglect, she is an absolute sweetheart! She is gentle and kind to people, other dogs, and cats alike. She is a pleasure to be around, and we'll probably never know why she was abandoned.
In order to take her on as a foster, I need financial help with her. I have a vet appointment lined up for her on June 4th. These are the minimum charges I know we will accrue:
Exam - $65
Rabies vaccine - $18
1st DHPP vaccine - $20
Heartworm test - $37
1 month of flea treatment and heartworm prevention - ??
With this in mind, plus the GFM fees, I'm starting the fundraiser at $200. She may need much more veterinary assistance, but we wont know more about that until she has her vet exam.
If there are any funds left over by the time she finds placement, every dollar will go with her to any carefully approved rescue willing to take her on. If she is adopted by a private home, any left over funds will go in her honor to a German Shepherd specific rescue.
Thank you so much for caring about this sweet, deserving soul! She is one more dog we are keeping OUT of the shelters, and by doing so, giving one more shelter dog a better chance at finding their own home.
