IMMEDIATE NEEDS: (read update below)
New tires and installation: $786
Working rear backup camera and screen: $350 (self install)
ABS speed sensors for stability control unit: $200 (after install)
Tire pressure sensors: $250 (after install)
There are other electrical issues for the power mirrors, rear power liftgate, and other things that I’ll still need help buying and getting fixed. For now, the above will allow me to drive significantly more safely.

UPDATE! I was able to get a Lincoln Navigator from 2004 with some help from a friend for $2500 after/tax/title/registration. Mechanically it works great. There are some issues with sensors, and some other immediate needs that will keep me safe while I drive, as I just moved into a new roll at RoadRunner Sports moving from retail to off-site event management and business development.
I’d appreciate any help you can give, and/or help spreading this link.
Thanks!

On August 26th, I was t-boned by a drunk driver while driving to a work client’s house in Oceanside. The estimated impact speed was 70-80 mph in a 40 mph zone.
The impact spun my Nissan Rogue SUV 3 times, snapped the rear axle, bent the car’s steel frame, ripped off the exhaust, and twisted the entire frame of the automobile.
I sustained injuries to my neck, head, ribs, and was diagnosed with PTSD from the incident. I’m incredibly grateful to my AA program, as I have maintained my sobriety through the entire process, having not consumed alcohol in over 4.5 years.
The other individual was not insured, and my insurance company refused to cover the crash despite my active uninsured motorist coverage. I’m currently in a lengthy lawsuit with them that won’t settle until this summer.
Not having a car put me out of the job I was doing at the time, as I had residential solar clients from South San Diego to Temecula and beyond.
I’m currently working but am commuting via bike and public transit approximately 3 hours a day. Additionally, not having a vehicle makes it incredibly difficult to work my program (AA), and more importantly, help others in the program achieve sobriety.
I’m hoping to raise $5000 to buy a reliable, used car or SUV. I will be putting all the money I have into this cause as well, but am in desperate need of help from friends, colleagues, former colleagues, and anyone who can help me get my wheels back.
Please know that I have been (and will continue to) do everything in my power to buy a vehicle on my own. Additionally, all of the funds will be deposited into an account that I cannot touch for purposes other than purchasing a vehicle.
If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to me via telephone. I’m happy to provide further photos of the crash, the police report, and anything else I can (unless it cannot be shared because of my pending legal case).
I cannot thank you enough for helping me in this difficult time. I’m more grateful for my friends, family, and others who have supported me through this incident.
My cell number is (916) [phone redacted] if you’d like to learn more about what happened or have questions about the details of the incident or anything since.
Sincerely,
Shea
