My husband Shea was diagnosed with thyroid cancer five years ago. After surgery and radiation, he was in remission. Three years later, he faced testicular cancer and, after surgery, was again in remission. The treatments took a toll on his vascular system, leading to diverticulitis and blood clots in his lungs. While searching for the cause, doctors discovered his cancer had returned. Some tumors were removed, but others could not be operated on due to their location. Shortly after this operation, Shea lost his job and medical insurance. Now he needs radiation, and we are struggling to keep up with past medical bills and household expenses.
