PJ, our little warrior!

My niece Shea and her husband Paul recently gave birth to their 4th child, PJ. Named Paul Joseph, after his father, he was welcomed into his family's loving arms.

After several days, PJ began showing signs of distress and jaundice, and was admitted to the hospital in Tucson, but was later taken by LifeFlight to Phoenix Children’s Hospital.

The team of doctors determined that he was not only battling critically high bilirubin levels but has also contracted viral meningitis and MRSA. He also has a blood clot in his liver.

He has been in the hospital for almost 2 weeks, and the medical team is aggressively trying to get these infections under control and treat his little liver, which must be strong to help him fight all the illnesses.

PJ is still in critical condition and will be receiving ever more aggressive treatment which could mean several more weeks in the hospital as he fights to live.

Shea has remained by his side at every moment and our family, my sister and brother in law, has rallied around her and the 3 other small children who are at home waiting for their Mom and brother to come home.
