Help Shea and Amari Find a Home!

Hello and thank you in advance for reading. My name is Julie, and I'm writing this on behalf of my dear friend Shea, who I've known since middle school. Shea is 25 and has a 5 year old son, Amari, who is one of the brightest and sweetest kids I know.

I only recently learned that Shea has been trapped in a physically and emotionally abusive relationship for over 5 years. This past week, she was able to leave with her son and get somewhere safe. They are currently staying in a local woman's shelter, and I am temporarily taking care of their beloved cat, Eclipse, pictured above.

Shea works as a delivery driver and makes very little to live on and has no savings. She also has a physical disability which makes working impossible some days, and will inevitably be missing work days due to upcoming court cases against her abuser. While the shelter has some resources, she still needs help with many expenses. In addition to food and other daily needs, donations will go towards making sure bills are covered, replacing clothes and belongings that her ex stole or destroyed, medical and therapy appointments, and much-needed car maintenance so Shea can continue working and being mobile in a rural area.

Shea is hoping to get a more stable job and permanent housing for herself and her son and pet. Shea is a fantastic, loving and fun person and a wonderful parent, and deserves to heal and raise her child in comfort and security. Anything at all helps towards this goal. Thank you so, so much.
