On Easter, our lives changed in an instant.
My dad, Shannon—who most people know and love as Shay—was involved in a devastating motorcycle accident and has been in the ICU ever since. While we are incredibly grateful that he is still here with us, he has suffered multiple serious injuries and has a very long road to recovery ahead.
If you know Shay, you know he is the kind of person who brings life to any room he walks into. He’s full of energy, laughter, and love. He’s not only an amazing dad, brother, fiancée, and son, but also a proud grandfather—an “OG,” as he likes to call it. He’s always been the one others can count on, the one who shows up, works hard, and takes care of the people he loves.
He owns a renovation company, and his livelihood depends entirely on his ability to work with his hands and his body. Right now, that has all been taken from him in an instant, and the uncertainty of what his mobility will look like moving forward is something we are still waiting to understand.
At this time, he remains under close medical care and has already undergone extensive treatment, including surgeries and blood transfusions. He still has additional procedures ahead, and we are taking things one day at a time as we wait to learn more about his recovery and what the future will look like.
Because of the severity of his injuries, Shay will be unable to work for an extended period of time. Right now, our main focus is his healing—but we are also facing the reality of everyday expenses continuing while he is unable to provide for himself.
We are asking for help to ensure that he does not lose his home, his vehicle, or financial stability during this incredibly difficult time. Any funds raised will go directly toward his essential living expenses and supporting him through recovery.
If you are unable to donate, we completely understand—your prayers, shares, and support mean just as much to our family right now.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for standing with us during this time. We are holding onto hope, faith, and the strength of our community as Shay begins this fight to heal.
