Shay was a wonderful husband, son, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, nephew, cousin, and friend to many. He was a very private person and particular about the people he let into his life and never really shared his diagnosis with others.
In 2022, Shay was diagnosed with colon cancer, a condition deemed “incurable” but treatable. Over the years, he fought a courageous battle with unwavering optimism, strength, and grace. He remained at peace with his diagnosis and openly shared that sense of peace with everyone he spoke to about it.
We are coming together to support his wife during this difficult time to cover the costs of his service, burial, and celebration of life. In honor of Shay’s passion for his community, any funds raised beyond these costs will go toward establishing a scholarship in his name at the Eastern San Diego County Jr. Fair. Thank you for honoring Shay’s memory with us.
