On Friday, Shayna was taken to the ER for difficulty breathing and low oxygen levels. She was quickly diagnosed with COVID and severe asthma, requiring a transfer from AdventHealth Wauchula to AdventHealth Sebring. Although we assumed this would be a quick hospital stay, things took a turn that we didn’t see coming. Shortly after getting to Sebring, her condition worsened, requiring her to be intubated and placed on a ventilator due to severe inflammation in her lungs.

By the grace of God, after two long days, Shayna’s lungs improved enough for her to be extubated. She is now awake, talking, and slowly regaining her strength. While we know her road to recovery will be longer than we expected, we know the Lord has a plan.

As we all know, ICU stays and medical treatments come with overwhelming expenses. Any donation, will go towards helping Shayna with medical bills as well as ensuring she receives the proper follow up care needed in the future.
