Support Shayna's Fight Against Lymphoma

On November 1st, I took my sister to the ER. She had symptoms she was concerned about and a high heart rate. They admitted her and gave her a blood transfusion. She received many tests including a CT scan which showed enlarged lymph nodes in her chest. She was ordered to have a lymph node biopsy to determine the cause of the enlargement.

On Nov 21st, she was informed it was Hodgkins Lymphoma.

If anyone knows my sister- she is fearless! She is brave and courageous and incredibly independent. She is also a selfless, loving mother to two beautiful girls- one is in her second year at UC Irvine and the other is in South Lake Tahoe with her in elementary school. My sister took a leap a few years ago to become an entrepreneur and works incredibly hard as a single-income household to provide for her kids.

Unfortunately, this has stopped her in her tracks and she realizes she needs the help and support of her community. She will not be able to work the tireless hours she has been to provide for her family. She will have medical expenses for her upcoming treatment, travel to- and from- the treatment center which are hours away and she will have little to no income for the forseeable future.

She needs ALL of us as she begins her journey to fight this disease. She needs our love, kind words and support so she can continue to focus on treatment and taking care of her family.
