⸻Kasey’s daughter Shayla and her wife Beatrice have been traveling for the past week to Alaska.

They made it as far as Beavercreek in the Yukon Territory when a car swerved into Shayla’s lane. Shayla swerved to avoid them and ended up rolling her truck. The camper shell came off, and all of her belongings were tossed out onto the highway.

Beatrice was following behind in her own truck and saw the accident happen.

Shayla was medevaced to Anchorage and is having surgery to cover the part of her skull that is exposed on her forehead. She has a team of doctors working to decide the best way to fix her injury. Thankfully, there are no other major injuries — only severe bruising and many scrapes.

Beatrice was also in the medevac with Shayla, leaving all of their belongings behind in Canada. We are working to get them brought to Alaska.

Everything Shayla owned — including her beloved truck — is a complete loss.

The kids were trying to make it to Anchorage so Shayla could start at the university at the end of this month. This accident has been a huge setback for them.
