My name is Ibrahim Qanah helping to raise a fund to support Shaykh Zakaria's wife.

I’m sure you all have heard the unfortunate news of the passing of our beloved Shaykh Zakaria. He was a gem in the Houston community for many years. I ask Allaah to forgive all his sins and grand him the highest level of paradise. – Aameen

Shaykh Zakaria has left behind his beloved wife. His wife has only been in America for two years, she does not know any English and does not have a job nor does she know how to maneuver in America adequately. I am asking our generous community to please donate so we can support his wife for the first year of his passing until she can learn how to get on her feet and support herself. This will help her in this hard time of losing her husband.

Our beloved Prophet Muhammad peace be upon him said:

عن أبي هريرة عن النبي صلى الله عليه وسلم: ((الساعي على الأرملة والمسكين كالمجاهد في سبيل الله))، وأحسبه قال: ((وكالقائم الذي لا يفتُر، وكالصائم الذي لا يُفطِر))؛ متفق عليه.

Abu Hurayrah (may Allaah be pleased with him) reported that the Prophet (may Allah's peace and blessings be upon him) said: "The one who looks after the widow and the needy person is like the one who fights in the cause of Allah." Abu Hurayrah (may Allah be pleased with him) added: "I believe that he said: 'And like the one who constantly stands in (voluntary night) prayer and never slackens, and like the one who constantly fasts and never abandons fasting.'"
