Support Shawn's Recovery from Storm Devastation

Hi Folks. I am David, known online as Goose. Last night, Hurricane Helene made landfall in a part of Florida that has never experienced hurricane-force winds before.

I am an admin of "The Not So Grimdark" Facebook page and Discord group.

Shawn, also known as Blandish, a longtime member of our page and Discord, had significant damage occur to everything they own due to storm surge flooding. Damage is immense. He has severe damage to the house he shares with his brother, and most of his belongings, including all of his Warhammer books and models, his car, and a large portion of his clothing have been completely destroyed by floodwaters, which, as you can tell by the pictures, were almost 4 feet deep. Fortunately, his car has storm surge insurance as Shawn used to live much farther south; however, this part of Florida has never seen significant storm surge, and their house did not carry storm surge insurance.

The Not So Grimdark admins would like to reach out to our community to ask for support for a fellow wargamer in these extremely difficult circumstances.

Donated funds will be used to help alleviate the short-term costs of food and lodging in a hotel, repairs to their house, and replacement of necessary personal belongings destroyed by the storm.

Funds will be disbursed directly to Shawn by GoFundMe. The admins will have no access to funds. If you would like to donate Warhammer supplies or books, please reach out to the page or to Goose on the Discord, and we will arrange them getting to Shawn.
