Our friend Shawn Fortney was struck by a car in a hit-and-run incident while on his bicycle a couple of weeks ago. He received multiple facial fractures along with a fractured jaw and severe concussion. Sadly, he doesn't even remember the incident and was found stumbling around asking for help. All he remembers is being on his bike, and the next thing he knows, he is in the hospital. The doctor said he may have been unconscious in the road for some time.
He hasn't been able to eat solid food, and his face and hand are very beat up. Being such a talented guitarist and musician left him in fear for the worst. We have been waiting to hear about what sort of medical bills he might be in for if facial surgery was required after seeing a specialist. Thankfully, we got good news that no surgery for his face is needed! His hand is almost healed, but his concussion and facial damage still need time.
The ambulance ride and his deductible will not be cheap, and we want to help ease some of this financial pressure on top of everything.
The Nixon Rodeo family has been so fortunate over the last 15 years to be surrounded by supporters, and now is another time we ask if you can pitch in, in any way, it would really mean a lot to him.
Thank you
