Shawnie Whitaker and C.C. Roberts have been best friends since the 4th grade. Life threw everything at them—tragedy, pain, and loss—but they never stopped showing up.

• Shawnie was just 16 when a devastating car crash left him in a coma for 28 days and took his leg.

• C.C. was in the backseat of a wreck that shattered his neck and back—leaving him a quadriplegic.

Most would’ve given up. But not these two.

Now, going on 52 years old, they’re doing the impossible—traveling to Hawaii to represent Team USA in the World Adaptive Surfing Championships, with 19 countries competing!!

Two childhood friends. Two survivors. One unforgettable dream.

These two young men find it hard to ask for help!
