Hi everyone, my name is Lauren, and I am setting up this GoFundMe for my sister Shawna after a devastating head-on car accident. Shawna is currently in the ICU and has already undergone multiple surgeries. Her injuries are severe and include a broken left pelvis, shattered right kneecap, shattered right heel, and a broken rib. Doctors expect Shawna will be in a wheelchair for at least three months, and her recovery is expected to take close to a year, followed by extensive physical therapy.

Shawna is a small business owner, and like most self-employed people, if she cannot work, there is no income coming in. Unfortunately, she is going to be unable to work for a long time while medical bills and daily expenses continue to pile up. Shawna is also the primary person helping care for and provide for our disabled mother, who she helps with groceries, food, and basic necessities. On top of everything, Shawna has two rescue dogs, Roxy and Lucie. Anyone who knows Shawna knows how much she loves those dogs, and they will need care and support while she is unable to walk or get around.

We are raising funds to help cover medical bills, hospital costs, and surgery expenses, rehabilitation and physical therapy, mobility equipment and recovery needs, rent, utilities, and basic living expenses while she cannot work, support for her disabled mother, and care and supplies for her rescue dogs, Roxy and Lucie.
