Support Shawna Kennedy's Fight Against Cancer

I’m reaching out to share some difficult news about my sister, Shawna Kennedy. Shawna has been diagnosed with small cell lung cancer. At this stage, we do not yet know the stage of the cancer, but she will be undergoing biopsies soon to help determine the next steps in her treatment plan.

We have already met with an oncologist, and while we will have more information next week, it’s clear that Shawna has a tough road ahead. The initial treatment and subsequent care will involve significant medical expenses, and Shawna is already facing mounting bills and the need to miss work.

UPDATE: Shawna found out its small cell lung cancer , starting chemo the pep scan showed the chemo is killing the core of the mass in the right lung, but still has to work on the other mass. it has also moved to the left femur bone in the leg which makes it hard for her to walk without pain . so her condition has went from limited to extensive stage , she will keep doing chemo treatments but also adding immunotherapy also. this will be a long journey just keep praying .

Update 7/28/24

today started the 2nd rounds of chemo adding in Immunotheraphy as well. her leg is keeping her in tremendous pain to where she cant walk without a walker or a scooter to ride, they are going to start radiation on the leg friday and then everyday next week along with radiation on the spot on the mediastinum that isn't shrinking as fast as the doctor wants it to be with just the chemo. so please just keep her in your prayers to get through this all .

UPDATE 9/18/2024 Shawna went in to outpatient this morning and had a port placed in her chest to help make it easier on the chemo treatments she still has to take monthly the veins just wasn't holding up to it in the arm. started the 3rd round today and goes through the end of the week. along with the chemo she has been doing radiation on her leg and chest to try to shrink the mass, if you didn't know she is having to use a walker or scooter to walk she is not able to walk on this leg due to it could break at anytime, she stays extremely tired all the time . She still has a very long rode ahead of her . She still has tons of medical bills coming in and on top of that she is having to make daily trips to Texarkana to do radiation on top of traveling to hot springs for chemo 3 days a week . We are doing several fund raisers to help raise money for her .
